Epitomizing traditional Japanese Higo style; and incorporating authentic Higo qualities much like that of those of ancient times; the Tokujo Hon iaito features upgraded accessories and finishing. Aoi Sukashi, the Aoi signature tsuba; finished in a flat black; contrasts the golden inlayed Maki-Ryu (dragon). The fuchi/kashira are of a traditonal Higo theme. All saya include hitodome and are available in kuroro (glossy black), kuro-ishime (matte black) or cha-ishime (matte brown). Tsuka wrapping choices include 100% silk in either black or leather brown, over black ray skin. One may choose from suguha or suguha-gunome (signature hamon) on the toshin.

We have limited the choice of custom options, thus allowing for quick delivery (4 - 8 weeks crafting time) However, despite the greatly reduced crafting time, there are no compromises - we guarantee Aoi quality.

Metal-cast Flex Resistant Heavy Zinc Aluminum Alloy Blade

The toshin width is thicker than the conventional sand-casted blade, it is much heavier at approximately 880g(2.45 shaku). The thick blade enables production of longer lengths in blade without increasing chances of breakage.
