The Power of Water!
The Sazanami Koshirae is based on a river theme; and the subtle power of its lapping waves. This is deemed an iaito that represents tranquility, yet at the same time, power. The graceful play of splashing water over the antique style tsuba, is complimented with Koi fish menuki, over white ray skin, and wrapped in either black or dark brown 100% cotton tsuka-ito! In keeping with the overall tranquil water theme, the fuchi/kashira, featured in silver; represent Sazanami (lapping waves). Saya choices, all of which include hitodome, are kuroro (glossy black), kuro-ishime (matte black) or cha-ishime (matte brown). One may select from suguha or doran (signature hamon) patterns on the toshin.
