Long the most sought after iaito available, Aoi's signature sword with live (Shinken) blade, is now
the ultimate in luxury. The blade may be ordered with or without hi (blood groove) in super flex resistant alloy or genuine traditionally made japanese steel. That means hand-fired tamahagane folded a full 2048 times (twice the standard for other Katana) providing more intricate hamon patterns and uncompromised strength with an extremely sharp cutting edges.

Steel, Antique Finish Tsuba, Sliver Habaki

The Aoi's habaki is available as either pure siliver or brushed siliver finish-highly polished towards the blade and subtly textured near the tsuba, complimenting the overall antique theme.

The Dragon of Luxury

The signature sword is the dragon of all our iaito! Aoi includes a full dragon theme, from the Maki Ryu design on menuki, through to the fuchi & kashira. With an Antique finish, our menuki features traditional impressions of ancient Japanese dragons.

The Aoi’s habaki is finished in brushed silver – highly polished towards the blade and subtly textured near the tsuba; thus complimenting the overall antique theme.

Premium Silk Tsuka & Black Same

100% Premium Pure Silk, hand-wrapped to perfection... The silk hi-neri wrapping is applied to our Aoi Signature Iaito. This process is completely done by hand of Tsuka-Maki Shi (wrapping craftman). The Aoi Signature iaito includes the option for genuine leather as opposed to pure silk. We especially included this option for practitioners that desire more of customization.

Genuine ray skin hand-lacquered (Urushi-te-nuri) to a semi-gloss finish.. As we are proud to provide the Aoi Signature Iaito, we ensure that only genuine materials are incorporated throughout the iaito-sword. Our signature Iaito is wrapped with genuine black ray skin along its tsuka. Each and every tsuka pattern is therefore slightly different depending on the ray used.

Saya, han-same / kuroro

Only the finest sayas may be chosen with the Aoi Koshirae. Premium hand-made works of art, carved from traditional ho-no-ki, and hand shaped specifically for one iaito. Whether it's han-same/kuroro with a full and seamless wrapping of genuine ray skin, suspended in natural Urushi lacquered by hand, or the traditional Sendan, Inro, or Tou-Ishime.
